We are the Borderline Amateur Radio Club (BARC).

Organization of the club took place in the early 1980's and included members from Roosevelt & Vernal, Utah, and Rangely, Colorado. For this reason Borderline was chosen as the name of the Club. The Club callsign is W7BAR.

Original members included Ike Topliss/W7XG, Ron Wood/WA7HPZ, Mike Wood/WA7HQA, Norm Neel/W0QOT, Jay Hansen/KA7BPB, Nels Hoffman/WA7DDH. From these first six members we have grown in number to approx. 80 members.

Based in the Uintah Basin, BARC operates repeaters located in North Eastern Utah. The club repeaters are Blue Mtn. 147.100 (wide coverage) at 40^21'26" North 109^08'82" West, Elev. 8216'. Grizzly Mtn. 147.040 at 40^13'32" North, 110^06'29", Elev. 5560' (linked full time with the SDARC repeaters), and the Duchesne rpt. 147.260. Other local repeaters are the Tabby Mtn. 147.240 (wide coverage linked with 147.140 machine covering the Wasatch front), Roosevelt rpt. 145.490 (linked full time with the SDARC repeaters),and Blue Mtn. 449.950 (pl 136.5). All repeaters follow the state band plan and are pl toned for 136.5 hz.

The club holds a weekly net on Monday evenings 2100 hr. (Mtn. time) on the 147.100 rpt. All amateur radio operators a encouraged to check in.
